It's simple because if you so choose, you don't even have to press a button to start playing. The first thing you see when you run Funny Chess is the game board.
However, the game includes some complementary options that you may want to take advantage of. The graphics don't stand out, but are very attractive. You can turn on a stopwatch to time your game and each individual move, and rotate the board at the beginning to play with black pieces instead of white. You can also check on any previous moves thanks to a small search tool.
You can play alone against the computer, or against a friend using the same PC. Unfortunately, this is where Funny Chess loses a few points - its AI only has one level, so when you've managed to best it a number of times, you'll probably have to go looking for a new game to kill time.
